Steam Locomotives
Caledonion Pug 56025 'Smokey Joe'
Operational Status: Operational
Owner: P&AR
This loco has been around from the beginning. It is actually a LNER Y9 that was rebuilt by an early perservationist into a Caledonian style pug locomotive. It was overhauled 2 years ago, and is our station pilot and shunting locomotive, providing faultless performance. We are looking into buying a second Y9, that hasnt been rebuilt that was recently found in a remote scrapyard in Scotland. It requires alot of work, so we are still looking at the feasibility of the purchase.

LNER B12/3 No. 8537
Operational Status: Operational
Owner: Holden Society
This B12 locomotive was a regular performer, along with its classmates on the Eastern region, being a GER design of locomotive. The B12s were a very succesful class, with ample power even though the very restrictive loading gauge stops big locomotives from being used on the GE lines. the B12s were used for most of the Mainline services until Gresley's B17s and eventually the BR standard Britannias replaced them. This Locomotive is halfway through its ticket, and is very popular with enthusiasts, and those who remember the LNER days, and, even the GER railway days when these locomotives thundered through the East Anglia coutryside, including use on this line, at speeds of 70mph.
